Learn to make your own watercolor paints!
This straightforward demo will demystify the basics of preparing your own watercolor paint. We will review historical and modern pigments for watercolor as well as various binding mediums and their properties. Pigment grinding technique will be demonstrated, as well as pouring pans for storage.
The demonstration will last about an hour.
Becca Pollak received her BFA from The Art Institute of Chicago and has extensive experience in paint composition. She has had several internships in museum conservation laboratories and has completed a Fellowship in paper conservation at the Art Institute of Chicago. More recently, she has completed studies in organic chemistry at Hunter College in New York. She has been with Kremer Pigments since~2007.
