Pigments made of minerals and similar synthetically produced pigments are called "Mineral Colors". Mineral colors can be earth pigments, pigments made of precious stones, spinel phase pigments, iron oxides, cadmium, lead, chromium and cobalt pigments, glimmer and also metall pigments and ground glass. We use the word "Mineral Pigments" to differentiate from organic pigments, pigments made from plants or by organic chemistry.
